Yago Darnell, one of the fans who jumped onto the pitch at the end of Sunday’s derby at the RCDE Stadium and was recognized for falling on a television camera, has resigned from the coaching position he held at Junior FC de Sant Cugat.
It was made public by the club in a official statement where it strengthens its position against any kind of violence and where accepting Darnell’s voluntary resignation, emphasized that the former coach apologized and expressed his regret.
Let’s remember Darnell back then expelled Monday for People’s Party of candidacy for municipality de Sant Joan Despí: the young man appeared in the lists of said formation as an independent.

“As a result of the incidents that occurred at the end of the match between RCD Espanyol and FC Barcelona in which a member of the coaching staff of the Junior FC football school was identified, the Club wishes to express its total condemnation of the events that took placeas well as any kind of violence in sport.
Junior FC is proud, in its more than 105 years of history, to defend the Ethical principles that needs to manage the sport, emphasizing the plant them in our youth. The aforementioned facts are contrary to how we understand sport.
Meeting yesterday afternoon with Yago Darnell and exposing the situation, we has submitted a voluntary resignation of his position, with the aim of not damaging the image of the club. Also, he asked us to extend to all members and families of the club their apologies and their regrets.
Junior FC has his resignation was accepted and thank you for the gesture and apology.”
