The organization of the ATP and WTA 1,000 of Rome suspended the day “temporarily” this Monday due to rain, which appeared in the Italian capital from 13:30 CET (-2 GMT).
For the fourth day so far in the competition, rain is forcing matches to be halted. In this case, the match affected was the one played on the center court between the Serbian Novak Djokovic and the danish Holger Rune.
Rune won the first set after trailing the Serbian 6-2, but ‘Nole’ won 5-4 and 0-30 in the second, close on the ‘break’ to level the contest and take it to the third set.
In addition, three other games remain to be played. In the men’s draw, the rivalry between the Norwegian Casper Ruud and the Argentine Francisco Cerundolo; and in women’s the matches between Spaniards Paula Badosa against the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko and the Polish Iga Swiatek against the Kazakh Elena Rybakina.
