Fifth in the table, the ‘rossoneri’ are just one point behind Lazio, fourth and will visit Udinese tomorrow.

The weak background of a victory in the previous four days compromised the presence of Milan in the Top-4 in Serie A and now they got a major victory in the psychological aspect with a great performance from Olivier Giroud, author of a ‘hat trick’, supported by a Brahim and a Rafael Leao who also stood out with each goal and assist.

The first ten minutes of the games were not yet over when Milan opened the scoring with a well-chopped pass from Brahim Díaz behind a defense that was in control. Leo before the goal is defeated Nicola Ravaglia on his way out.

The reaction of a strong Milan shot against a weak visiting defense came immediately. A superb save by Ravaglia on a header from Malick Thiaw gave way to the other corner. Leo took it short on Brahimwho placed a perfect cross on the head of Giroud to make it 2-1 (24′).

Giroud, penalty

On the side of half time a great through ball from Sandro Tonali ended with the collapse of Leo in the box after being brought down by Koray Günter and Giroud He didn’t miss the chance to make it 3-1 by converting the penalty.

The game was decided at halftime as Sampdoria had no attacking presence, but Milan did not relax and closed the hand of its three most outstanding players.

Another two goals after the break

Leao lost his balance again, opened Tonali with quality, which was the pass of death Brahim pushed him through an empty door (63′). Released by Leao after agreeing to his endless renewal, also supplied Giroud the help of the fifth goal. The French veteran was controlled in a hand-to-hand struggle with Bram Nuytinck and he only had to push the ball when he caught Ravaglia on the wrong foot.
