Turkish Toprak Razgatlioglu and Japanese manufacturer Yamaha have confirmed the end of their relationship at the end of the 2023 season. Razgatlioğlu made an impressive start to his Yamaha career, winning on his debut at Phillip Island in 2020, before taking a further two wins at Estoril later in the year en route to fourth in the championship standings.
The 2021 season witnessed one of the biggest battles for the Superbike title with Razgatlioğlu taking on Briton Jonathan Rea, with the Turkish rider eventually collecting 13 wins, 29 podiums and three pole positions to earn his purpose.
In 2022, the Turkish star fought again with Rea and Álvaro Bautistafrom Ducati, which placed him second, although with more victories (14) than in 2021, as well as 29 podiums, and four pole positions.
The 2023 season saw the Turkish rider show incredible consistency and speed to finish second in the overall standings.behind Bautista, who has one win and ten more podiums in the first 12 races.

“I want to thank everyone at Yamaha for the love and respect they have shown me. To win the world championship is my dream when I signed with Yamaha, and we achieved that goal together”, the Turk acknowledged in the press release.
“For next season I feel I need a new challenge and even with the MotoGP opportunity, I didn’t feel the same connection with the MotoGP bike that I do with the Superbike. But if I want to stay here I need a new goal, a new ambition,” said Razgatlioglu.
“I am sorry to leave Yamaha, both the brand and the people, because we have a very good relationshipbut change is part of any sport and it is normal for any professional”, highlighted the Turkish pilot.
