Barcelona rider Tito Rabat will return to the Superbike World Championship with Kawasaki client team Puccetti Racing for the remainder of the season. More than a week before the start of the five rounds at the Misano World Circuit, the Italian team announced that they will send him on the Ninja ZX-10RR for the team left vacant since Tom Sykes left the team to join the team ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team .
Rabat, Moto2 world champion in 2014, was a MotoGP rider between 2016 and 2020 and in 2021 moved to the Superbike World Championship with the Barni Spark Racing Team, but left the team after just a few rounds, with ninth that position in Race 1 at Estoril as the best result. He left the team after the French Round and went on to replace Lucas Mahias at Kawasaki Puccetti Racing for the final rounds at Portimao, San Juan Villicum and Mandalika. His best result was in Race 1 in Argentina, eleventh.
but the results were not as expected, with ninth as the best position. At the end of the course he competed on the Kawasaki Puccetti replacing Lucas Mahias, who was injured. He became the eleventh in Argentina. Rabat has already raced with Kawasaki Puccetti Racing, contesting three rounds in 2021 (Portimao, San Juan Villicum and Mandalika) and one in 2022, at the same Misano World Circuit.
In 2022 he competed in the Spanish Superbike Championship (ESBK) and won the title with two wins and 12 podiums, and in the Superbike World Championship he again replaced Mahias, injured, on the Puccetti Kawasaki at Misano.
In 2023 he signed up for a new competition, the MotoE World Championship, signing for Pramac. In the only event held at Le Mans he was 6th and 16th.
“I am happy to return to the Puccetti team and to Kawasaki. It is a good opportunity, to return to WorldSBK and keep the rhythm of the race, because this year I am competing in MotoE where there are not many races. I will try to make the most of this opportunity and help Manuel Puccetti’s team as they continue to develop their bike. I want to have fun and do my best, but also complete all the races to collect as much data as possible. See you in Misano , ” he explained through the statement.
Manuel Puccetti, the owner of the team, added that “both in 2021 and 2022, the Spaniard was entrusted with the task of replacing an injured rider, which is never easy, and he competed without testing the bike, without knowing . that, Tito has always proven to be a great professional, with a lot of experience in both Moto2 and MotoGP, it will be a pleasure to have him back in the team for our home round in Misano, where our aim is to continue building of the bike. and try to improve the results obtained so far”.
