Masarova falls in the semifinals of La Bisbal’s WTA125


Rebecca Masarovathe main favorite for the title, fell to Panna Udvardy in semifinals of the Solgironès International Open. The Barcelona tennis player was surprised by the Hungarian’s aggressive start, scoring the first set 6-4.

The second set started in favor of Masarova, who dominated 4-1. With everything pointed in the third, Udvardy raised the level to break Masarova’s serve twice to score the second and final set 6-4.

The Hungarian tennis player will fight to win the tournament against Arantxa Rus, who ousted Lourdes Carlé in an intense match that was decided in the third set by a final score of 6-1, 4-6 and 6-3. The Dutchwoman already reached the final in 2021, but fell to Irina Khromacheva in a painful final.

Masarova and Bolsova fell in doubles

The Catalan couple fell in the doubles final 7-6 and 6-3 Caroline Dolehide and Diana Schneider. The match was decided in a tight tiebreak where the North American couple managed to keep the boss cool. In the second and decisive set they maintained their level to win the title.
