Athletic’s Genuine team claimed yet another victory in the final round of the Liga played over the weekend at Villarreal. The rojiblancos were proclaimed Fair Play champions for the fifth consecutive season within the Respect group in which they were framed. The Celta Integra Foundation group won both awards in the Sportsmanship group and Nàstic de Tarragona in the Companionship group.
Espanyol (Sportsmanship), Mallorca (Companionship) and Osasuna (Respect) became sports champions.
The representatives of Athletic traveled to Castellón with the aim of repeating the title obtained in the previous four years, the last in Lezama in 2022. Finally, they achieved it after facing Ibiza, Deportivo de la Coruña and Saragossa.
The Genuine League is a competition for people with intellectual disabilities. 44 teams played more than 60 games in the José Manuel Llaneza sports city and more than 2,000 people came to see the competition whose banner was ‘Share before competing’.
