Spain going to European Team Championshipincluded in the European Games held in Silesia (Poland) from June 20 to 25, with a squad of 46 athletes of the highest degree, apart from which is outstanding Ana Peleteirotriple jump bronze medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, and Mohamed Katir, European 5,000 meter runner-up at Munich 2022.
Spain, framed in the First Division with fifteen other countries, will compete in the last three days of the European Games, from June 23 to 25.
This European Team Championship, to be held in Madrid in 2025, will mean the return to international competition, fifteen months later, of the Spanish triple jump record holder Ana Peleteiro. She will do so after becoming a mother for the first time in December and with a goal of the World Cup in Budapest (Hungary) in August.
Among the great names of the Spanish team also stand out Mohammed Katir, who will compete in the 1500 meters, a distance where he won world bronze last summer in Oregon and where he is the Spanish record holder. The Murcian arrives in top form as world leader in the 5000 thanks to his 12:52.09 victory at the Diamond League in Florence this June.
He will debut in Silesia with a Spain shirt Thierry Ndikumwenayowho in the same race in Florence became the third Spaniard to exceed thirteen minutes (12:59.03) in the 5000, the distance he will cover in the European team competition.
Another of Spain’s great references to Poland is Adrian Benwhose last race in the red jersey resulted in a gold medal at the European Indoors in Istanbul in March.

The relay is guaranteed fifth place in the world and fourth in Europe in 2022, with the quartet of Sevilla, Bestué and Pérez repeating.
One of the sensations this 2023 will also debut in Spain in the absolute category, martha serrano. The woman from Madrid first broke the Spanish sub23 record in the 5000 and then the 3000 meter hurdles (the test she will run in Silesia) with 9:27.07, the fifth best ever by a Spaniard and the sixth European of the year.
Other remaining athletes on the list made by the coach Jose Peiro and the Sports Department of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation are the international medalists Inaki Canal (400 and 4×400 mixed), Oscar Husillos (4×400 mixed) and Pablo Torrijos (triple); or continental and world finalists such as Pol Retamal (200 and 4×100), Daniel Arce (3000 obstacles), Quique Llopis (110 hurdles), Hector Santos (length), Markel Fernandez (4×400 mixed), Lorea Ibarzabal (800), Esther Guerrero (1500), Agueda Marques (5000), Fatima Diame (length) and bethlehem toil (weight).
The European by teams repeats in Silesia after the last edition of 2021, where Spain achieved fifth place, its best historical result equaling Lille 2017 since men and women scored in the same classification.
