The city of Manchester is bathed in spite of the rain

Date:

Thousands of people braved the heavy rain that lashed Manchester on Monday to attend the City squad parade through the streets of the English city center and celebrate the conquest of the first Champions League and the first treble in the club’s history.

Two days after the victory in Istanbul that Rodrigo Hernández sealed with his match against Inter, Pep Guardiola and his players celebrated with thousands of fans the culmination of this historical period.

Unfazed by the storm that forced the start of the parade to be delayed by half an hour, fans thronged the crowded sidewalks, some of them riding public transport stops and street furniture to witness the passing of three open buses and take a closer look at their idols.

On the ‘citizen’s’ bus, a festive atmosphere reigned and bottles of champagne and beer flowed in an hour-long parade.

Between waving flags and inflatable plastic bananas, Ruben Dias waving the Premier League trophy on the side of the car, Nathan Aké danced with the glass and Jack Grealish, once again the king of the partywill take off his shirt to celebrate the season’s victories.

Guardiola, the architect of City’s historic feat from the bench, smoked a cigar on the deck of one of the three buses and greeted the fans as he sang along with them and encouraged them to keep the party going.

Because of the release, the Santpedor coach, like others, got wet and some of his players, like Erling Haaland, Nathan Aké and the aforementioned Grealishthey chose to remove the light blue shirt.

Only seven teams have managed to win the Champions League, League and National Cup in the same season. A feat already achieved by Guardiola at FC Barcelona in 2009 and that is more unusual in England, where only United have achieved it so far, in the 1998-1999 season, with Sir Alex Ferguson on the bench.
