The Italian Cyrus Imbolecaptain of Lazio and the Italian team, declared on Thursday that the defeat against Spain (2-1) in the second semifinal of the League of Nations was “stinging” because his team was “playing well”.
The striker returned with the ‘azzurra’ after missing the last call-up due to injury: “It’s a bitter return because we fought until the end”.
“Unfortunately we have conceded the goal with bad luck because of the carambola, but that’s how football is, we accept defeat, but it stings because we were playing well,” he told Rai as soon as the match ended.
Immobile believes Italy deserve, at the very least, the extension.
“It’s very difficult to play with them because they always have the ball, they make you run, they make you tired… although they didn’t create many chances for us either. Maybe they are better at the level of the game, but at the level of the chances in I think it’s just the uprooting”, he sentenced.
