The experience of assignments carried out throughout the season just ended can be considered positive in general terms. Some of the rojiblancos who had to pack their bags were called up to be part of the first team, possibly even at the start of the next campaign. Others, on the other hand, had to find a new destination.
Among parts of Valverde’s final squad, half a dozen of them knew in their day what it meant to pack their bags to show they could have a place at home. The black pudding, injured midway through the season, was loaned out to Valladolid last season and Guruzeta returned to Athletic after spells at Sabadell and even Amorebieta.
