Tadej Pogacar, winner of the Tour in 2020 and 2021 and second in 2022, now has a new Athletic shirt, as seen in a photo taken yesterday with rojiblanco president Jon Uriarte and Matxin, manager of his team, the UAE Team Emirates. “Inspired by the successful path the Club has taken in elite football during its 125-year history, the new kit proudly displays the emblematic red and white stripes, accompanied by its shield, a symbol of a unique fan base in the world, and with exclusive details of Castore, Athletic’s new technical sponsor”.
In this way, Athletic announced yesterday to the public what will be its kit for the 2023-24 season. The first outfit for the rojiblanco team can be purchased starting today in the club’s physical and online stores. The price of the jacket, with three different models, is between 85 and 110 euros and 70 euros in the case of children.
The new Athletic shirt is stamped on the back of the neck with the Bilbao club’s 125th anniversary logo along with the ikurriña. The jacket has a V-neck and sleeve cuffs in a contrasting color, the pants are black and the knitted socks have a red-and-white finish.
The goalkeeper’s kit, for its part, maintains the traditional black of Athletic goalkeepers, with light vertical white stripes and references to the San Mamés façade.
In the first advance made by the Bilbao club and Castore regarding the new clothing for the rojiblancos teams, part of the material corresponding to the training clothing is also included. In online stores you will find two different models of shirts: a gray one with a pink background of the brand and shield and a pink one with a gray background of the brand and shield.
Starting point
The departure today of the first stage of the Tour from the San Mamés stadium will serve as an additional attraction for the club’s official store located in the guts of this modern stadium. The rojiblanco club was kept closed to open it to the public today with the material of its new company, Castore.
