David Beckhamowner of between miami (MLS), explained for the first time how he found out about the arrival of Leo Messi to the Florida team a few weeks ago. The former England international explained this in detail to ‘The Athletic’, admitting it wasn’t a surprise, of course.
“A couple of weeks ago I woke up to about a million messages on my phone. I thought, ‘what happened? I don’t normally get that many messages… And all of a sudden, I heard Leo come out and announce he’s going to Miami. Obviously, it’s not a surprise for me,” he began by explaining.
The former Manchester United legend confirms that signing the Argentine is almost like a promise he has to the local fans: “I have always said, from the beginning, that if I have the opportunity to bring the best players in Miami, at Any time in their careers, I will. It’s like a promise.”
And when he had a chance with the former Barça player, he did it: “So, when I heard that one of the best players in the world, if not the best, who won everything, who is a great player, young yet and continues to do what he’s doing, he wants to play for my team, it’s a good moment for us.”
