The winners of the Monza race, the British Mike Conwaythe Argentinian Jose Maria ‘Pechito’ Lopez and the Japanese Kamui Kobayashicrossed the finish line in the #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid with a 16.250sec lead over the #50 AF Corse Ferrari 499P Hypercar driven by Italian Antonio Fuoco, Dane Nicklas Nielsen and Spaniard Miguel Molina.
The podium was completed, in 1:18.179, by the Peugeot Totalenergies of the British Paul di Resta, the Danish Mikkel Jensen and the French Jean-Eric Vergne.
Fourth was the second Toyota, the number 8 driven by Swiss Sébastien Buemi, New Zealander Brendon Hartley and Japanese Ryo Hirakawa, who lead the Drivers’ Championship with 119 points each.
In the Constructors’ contest, Toyota still leads with 152 points to Ferrari’s 125 and Cadillac’s 71.
The WEC’s next appointment is the 6 Hours of Fuji, in Japan, from September 8 to 10.
