PSG went fishing in Andorra

Borja Alvarezgoalkeeper coach FC Andorrahas received a proposal from PSG who joined the new technical team led by the Asturian and former Spanish coach Luis Enrique Martinez.

The coach, who was born in Lleida 31 years ago, will leave the Andorran entity after two and a half years.

“For us it is a real honor that someone who has worked with us can go to PSG. It is a victory for the club and also for him, because he is someone who deserves it because he has worked so hard. Now he receives the best award, because he will go to a great club”, said Jaume Nogués, the sporting director of Andorra.

Borja Álvarez arrived at FC Andorra in December 2020 from Almería, where he was part of the coaching staff of José María Gutiérrez, ‘Guti’. At FC Andorra he was promoted to the second division and last season Eder Sarabia’s men finished in seventh position. The Italian-Argentine Nico Ratti, Raúl Lizoain from the Canary Islands and the young Villarreal goalkeeper Marc Vidal stood in goal.

The new PSG goalkeeping coach also worked for the Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions and graduated in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences from the University of Lleida. He is also a Higher Technician in Animation of Physical and Sports Activities (AAFE) from the Joan Oró Institute.
