Alcaraz: “I feel I can win Wimbledon”

The Spanish Carlos Alcaraza Wimbledon semifinalist, says he has a “feeling” he can “win the tournament”, although he continues to put Novak Djokovicseven-time champion, as the main candidate.

“Honestly, yes,” said the Murcian when asked if he sees himself as capable of winning Wimbledon. “Everyone knows that the favorite is Djokovic, but I feel I can win the tournament, I have confidence and level”.

Alcaraz defeated the Danish on Wednesday Holger Rune in three sets and will play against the Russian Daniel Medvedev for a place in the final.

“I needed it,” he responded to the shout for winning the first set. “I started getting a little nervous. Until the end of the first set I didn’t know how to control those nerves and emotions, I was fighting internally with myself to try to improve. Until the end of the first set I didn’t succeed.
