Hernan Bonvicini arrived in 2020 at Atletico Madrid as a third coach, to help Diego Simeone and Nelson Vivas in the position previously held Juan Vizcaino. Born in La Plata 44 years ago, Cholo requested his presence at the rojiblanco club and after going through Estudiantes, Defensa y Justicia and Godoy Cruz, among other teams, he agreed to cross the pond.
A key figure in Bonvicini’s career was Juan Sebastian Veron, which he was under in 2012 at the Brandsen Association. La Brujita relied on him later for Estudiantes less. There he began to forge his relationship Nelson Vivas, being his right hand man in 2016. With him he also went to Defense and Justice and eventually they parted ways. Hernan joined Manuel Fernandez in Halcón and expanded his curriculum in Sport Boys of Peru and in Agropecuario, to return to Argentina as an assistant in Marcelo Gomez in Godoy Cruz.
It was Nelson Vivas, once the coaching staff of Atlético was combined after the departure of German Burgosgave Bonvicini its name Simeon, who already knew him, and by extension Atlético. Three years later, Hernán Bonvicini won the mattress dressing room. Players appreciate this technician’s knowledge, methods and communication style, which the booth greatly appreciates.
There is also no lack of character, proven by the fact that when he arrived at Atlético, he had to take the reins of the team after Simeone tested positive for Covid and Nelson Vivas had to isolate himself because he had close contact with the first mattress coach.
bonvicini He is happy in a quiet background, away from the spotlight but he is the main and important part in the smooth functioning of the rojiblanco team. Like Cholo and the rest of the coaching staff, his contract expires in 2024. Atlético plans to continue having the first sword, and so do his assistants.
