They have been fighting for it for several seasons, but for one reason or another it has not been possible. Girona B, a candidate for promotion in recent years, will negotiate with Badalona Futur to buy their place in the RFEF Second Division.
The ‘Badaloní’ club has announced in the last few hours the sale of its premises for a loan of 600,000 euros. That is why both clubs have announced a statement in which they will put the entity up for sale for 1 euro.
The symbolic value has a reason. ‘The price is justified by the fact that, in order to relieve the members of the board of directors of CF Badalona Futur, SAD of the financial obligations, the buyer is required to make an immediate payment or an adequate guarantee of the existing debt, an event that the board of directors of CF Badalona SAD does not want to do despite their commitment. The management of Mr. Miguel Ángel Sánchez increased this season the debt of the former UE Costa Brava from 350,000 to 600,000 euros, which, in addition to breaking his word and promises, now leaves CF Badalona Futur SAD in danger of disappearing.’ It should be intuitively qualified that, despite sharing a first and last name, the president of Badalona Futur has nothing to do with the coach of the Girona first team.
The statement ends with these lines. ‘It should be noted that this incident occurs, with apparent bad faith, 48 hours after formalizing the registration of the 2nd RFEF team to compete in the 23/24 season, which is why the members of the board of directors of the CF Badalona Futur SAD is forced to find an imminent solution to save the category and thus preserve the 2nd RFEF football in Badalona’.
Apparently, Girona could be promoted in July if they reach an agreement with the Catalan team and the final sentence could be given in the coming days.
