the slovenian Tadej Pogacar racknowledged Danish superiority Jonas Vingegaard in the only period ofthe Tour de Francewho overtook him by 1.38 minutes, but warned that he would fight to make up the difference even if “it will be more difficult than last year”.
“There’s nothing I can do, I’m at full throttle, it’s not my best day yet, but the Tour isn’t over yet. It gave me a lot of time, we’ll try to get it back. But it’s obviously more difficult than last year. But it’s given I’ve got everything”, assured the cyclist of U.A.E.

Pogacar admitted that he did not expect to lose so much time in relation to his rival. “Although I didn’t expect a huge margin, we know that these things can happen. I was second, it’s not bad, but it’s not enough, maybe during this test I didn’t feel too much,” he said.
The Slovenian defended the decision to switch bikes to tackle the final climb.
“I think it’s a good decision, I’m better on the classic bike and it only had an effect for a few seconds. After all, it’s not a big difference. In any case, I can’t go to all the way to the end, I’m happy to change the bike,” he said.
