The Spanish Jorge Pradofrom the GasGas team, finished in second position at the MXGP Motocross Grand Prix of Flanders which took place at the Belgian circuit of Lommel after winning the second of the races and coming third in the first.
This time only French Romain Febvre (Kawasaki) was better than him, as he commanded the first of the tours and came second in the last. That allowed him to win his fourth straight Grand Prix, but he was still far from Prado in the fight for the World Cup.
Behind both on Belgian soil is the Dutchman Glenn Coldenhoff (Yamaha), second and third, respectively, with 42 points. Also, the Spaniard Rubén Fernández (Honda) finished in eighth position, with 25 points.
Overall, Prado has accumulated 665 points and remains ahead of Febvre (566). Third, with 506, is the Swiss Jeremy Seewer (Yamaha) and fourth is Fernández with a total of 481.
The next test is the Finnish Grand Prix, which will be held in Vantaa next weekend.
“It has been another very satisfactory Grand Prix. We maintain the red plate and the wide advantage. In the second round I felt very comfortable on a track that was destroyed by potholes, I found my rhythm and I was able to defend myself when Febvre arrived”, highlighted Padro.
“I would have liked to have won the Grand Prix, but I left with a very good taste in my mouth for winning the race and consolidating the lead,” Prado said in statements released by his team.
