Swiatek did not forgive Andreescu and advanced to the semifinals

the polish Iga Switek, number one in the worldgot this Friday a spot in the semifinals of WTA 1,000 Rome after successfully defeating the Canadian Bianca Vanessa Andreescu in two sets, 7-6 (2) and 6-0.

Swiatek does not forgive Rome. The favorite to seize the Italian capital did not let the revelation of the women’s draw continue on its way, an Andreescu that greatly complicated the first set for the Polish but he was not deterred in the second.

The first sleeve is more than equal. Andreescu, who sacked Spaniard Nuria Párrizas, struggled to accept the ‘break’ on two occasions and had the possibility of achieving it on one, but the equality led to the tie-break. Swiatek didn’t see any cracks in the Canadian wall, but he played better the key points of the tiebreak and he twice broke his opponent’s serve.

The second set was colorless, the battle was different. Swiatek was a quake in Foro Italico’s ‘Grand Stand Arena’ and didn’t give his rival a chance, with no choice but to play the role of extra and fit in 6-0 which left him in a tournament in which he achieved victory of, being 90th in the world, reaching the quarterfinals.

Now in the semifinals, Swiatek will face the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenkain a duel at the top between two of the best tennis players on the circuit.
