The promise of the young Portuguese, age 19, Youssef Chermitifrom Sporting de Portugal, became Everton FC’s third new reinforcement on Friday, with a contract tying him to the English club for four seasons, until June 2027.
The Azorean striker, for whom Everton paid 12.5 million and is making his debut with the national team under 19, has closed an agreement with the ‘blues’ for an undisclosed amount and will wear the number 28: “Everton is a great club. Many legends have played here. I can’t refuse this opportunity. It’s a great moment for me and now I’m fully focused to get to work.”
“Now I have new goals. I’m here and I want to give my best for Everton. I want to help the team. I hope the fans like me and I want to show them what I’m capable of,” said he
Chermiti joined the Sporting de Portugal academy in 2016 and rose through the ranks until he made his debut in the first team in January this year, in a Lisbon derby against Benfica (2-2).
