Brentford secured a modest West London derby by beating Fulham 3-0 away, with goals from Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo, who scored twice.
The ‘Bees’, who put Tottenham Hotspur in trouble on the first day, beat a Fulham side at Craven Cottage that got everything wrong. On the brink of half-time, when both teams considered it 0-0, Issa Diop gave Wissa the ball for him to dribble past Leno to make it 0-1.
With the score against, Fulham struggled to build the game and in the 63rd minute came their sentence. Captain Tim Read pushed Wissa as he was about to engage and the referee awarded a penalty and a second yellow for the German, who went to the dugout.
From eleven meters, Mbeumo made it 0-2, and in stoppage time he completed his double, to end the game, leaving Brentford four points after two days in the position of Champions League and awaiting the rest of the results, and Fulham have three points after beating Everton on the opening day.
