The FIFA announced this Thursday the opening of the file against Luis Rubiales for the events that took place on Sunday, at the end of the World Cup final. The world’s highest body mentioned in its statement the article 13.1 and 13.2 of its Disciplinary Code as may have been violated by the President of the Federation.
But what do the aforementioned articles say? This is his full content:
“13.1 Associations and clubs, as well as their players, officials and any other member and/or person performing a function on their behalf, shall respect the Laws of the Game, as well as FIFA Laws and FIFA regulations, directives, guidelines, circulars and decisions, and adhere to the principles of fair play, honesty and integrity.
13.2. For example, anyone who acts in any of the following ways may be subject to disciplinary action:
a) violates the basic rules of civic behavior;
b) insult a natural or legal person in any way, especially through language or offensive actions;
c) use a sporting event to conduct demonstrations of a nature other than sports;
d) adopt a behavior that destroys football or to FIFA;
e) actively change the age of players in the identification documents presented by the latter in competitions where there is an age limit.
From this article FIFA will start its investigation and the drafting of a file that could lead to the disqualification of Luis Rubiales.
