Newcastle Police are investigating Jamaal Lascelles after he was involved in a violent fight in the city center at 4am on August 20.
The Newcastle captain had just lost against Manchester City and was partying with his younger brother when the incident happened. It all started after he received a blow to the neck, just 19 years old, which caused Lascelles to get involved, as shown in the images of the night.
The attackers threatened to “shoot” the central defender during a fight between several people, once they were outside the nightclub on Sunday. The next day the police started an investigation and now they have asked for more information about the incident.
“Just after 4am on Sunday August 20, we received reports of a disturbance involving a number of people on Westgate Road in Newcastle city centre,” a spokesman for the investigation began, adding “Officers attended but are believed to have left those involved at the scene. before they arrive. Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should use the ‘Tell us something’ page on our website or call 101, quoting NP -20230820-0227”.
A witness to the fight said Lascelles intervened after elbowing his brother to push the assailant and nearly hitting him with a vodka bottle. And it was that the central was attacked by six or seven men. He managed to knock one down but his brother ended up punched and bleeding, in addition to his friend being knocked unconscious after receiving a kick to the head.
