One of the signings in the market closed at the last minute will be, more than likely, one of the most surreal in the history of football, if not the most. And it happened in the lower divisions of Romania with Aziz Njoya Njifakue.
The 27-year-old Cameroonian forward signed for Viitorul Pandurii Targu Jiu (D2) from CSM Lugoj (D4). However, instead of a financial transfer, what was made was a material payment: specifically two large metal containers.
Lugoj, the seller’s club, detailed the general lines of this operation in social networks. “The club has received two containers that we will use as changing rooms. This is the best for everyone. The club loses on one side but wins on the other.” A delight shared by Viitorul Pandurii, who were happy to sign a striker who scored 44 goals last season.
