The Italian Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia (Ducati Desmosedici GP23), is confident and eager to compete in the home racethe San Marino Grand Prix, despite the violent “highside” – somersault fall – and then another motorcycle ran over his legs in Catalonia.
“On Sunday I went home with the team and after resting a bit I started to concentrate to try to be ready for Misano because On Thursday I will pass the medical control and if the doctors give me the OK, I will be out on the track on Friday for my home Grand Prix”, he explained in the press release of the Bagnaia team.
“The San Marino Grand Prix has always been a special event for Italian driversespecially for Ducati and that is why I will give my best to try to run on Saturday and Sunday”, confirmed the leader of the world championship.
His teammate Enea Bastianini, who broke his hand and ankle in a multiple crash at the start of the race, underwent surgery on Monday at Modena Hospital and will miss the home race or the next two in India and Japan.
Bastianini is irreplaceable of any driver in the Misano Adriatico race.
