Thanks to Friday’s 64, American Sahith Theegala leads the Fortinet Championship with South Korean Seong-hyeon Kim after the 2nd round played on the Silverado course in California, in Napa.
The world number 37 had seven birdies and an eagle to finish at -12 at the halfway mark of the tournament, tied for points with Kim, who had a 67 (-5) in this round.
Another South Korean, Sang-moon Bae (-11 overall), is one stroke away, ahead of American Eric Cole (-10).
He is followed by Kelly Kraft, alone at -9, while a group of five chases with ‘Ryder’ Justin Thomas and the defending champion and also ‘Ryder’ Max Homa, with 136 (-8).
“It was a great round,” commented Theegala, paying attention to the putter. “It was one of those laps where I felt I had to take my chances and, if I did, I had a good chance to do it,” he added.
