Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing-Ducati) redeemed himself this Sunday from his two falls on Saturday at MotorLand Aragón by winning with authority in second race of the World Superbike event in Aragon.
Bautista sealed his fiftieth victory in the Superbike World Championship by winning ahead of his rival for the 2023 title, the Turkish Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK), who finished 4.064 seconds behind and where he now leads by 47 points overall in the event. Italian Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing–Ducati) completed the podium, third in 7.109 seconds.
Bautista took the lead of the race on the second lap and gradually opened up a gap until he took the win and reversed Saturday’s disaster, when he crashed twice.
With this victory, Bautista has 53 in the World Cup and puts himself third on the all-time list, ahead of Troy Bayliss. It also became Spanish number 90 and Talavera’s 83rd podium.
The World Championship continues next weekend at the Algarve circuit, in Portimao (Portugal).
