The Polish international Grzegorz Krychowiak, 33, announced Tuesday that he is no longer playing for the national team. The midfielder, who started his professional career with the Girondins de Bordeaux, did not give a reason for his decision. After playing for Stade de Reims, Sevilla FC, Paris Saint-Germain, West Bromwich Albion and Lokomotiv Moscow, Krychowiak currently plays in Saudi Arabia with Abha Club.
He participated in Poland in the 2018 and 2022 World Cup and in the 2016 and 2021 European Championship. “Today I stop playing for the national team,” the player wrote on Facebook. “Playing 100 games with the white eagle (Poland’s emblem) on my chest is always the biggest honor for me,” added the player, who made his debut with the national team in 2008.
