Gnabry, no more weeks at Bayern

The forward of Bayern Munich, Serge Gnabrywill be out for “several weeks” after breaking his left arm on Tuesday afternoon in the German Cup match against Prussian Münstera 3rd division team, announced the Bavarian club.

“Serge will undergo surgery” on Wednesday and “will be out for a few weeks,” coach Thomas Tuchel said, as quoted in the club’s statement. The player underwent an X-ray examination during the match. “It is very difficult for him personally, but also for us. He is an important player,” added Tuchel. Gnabry, who was injured, had to leave the field in the 11th minute of the match after a collision with Münster goalkeeper Johannes Schenk.

Leader of the Bundesliga after five days, Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern continues on Saturday with a dangerous trip to Leipzig (6:30 pm), before another trip to Copenhagen on Tuesday in the Champions League (9:00 pm).

Bayern’s leading scorer last season but inconsistent, Serge Gnabry is one of the architects of Munich’s new national crown, along with Jamal Musiala. This season they face strong competition in the offensive sector, especially with the arrival of Harry Kane.
