The president of UEFA, Alexander Ceferin, This Wednesday he is in Madrid. In the middle of the morning it landed in the capital of Spainwhere he was welcomed by the president of the current RFEF managing committee, Pedro Rocha.
The new leader of the RFEF after the resignation of Luis Rubiales, acted as host by coming to welcome him on his arrival in the Spanish capital. Ceferin is expected meet with Pedro Rocha to know what is the current situation of the federation after the resignation presented by Luis Rubiales. The resignation also caused the UEFA Executive Committee to move the Congress at the beginning of 2024 from Madrid to Paris on September 27.
Alexander Ceferin will not only meet with Pedro Rocha. He is also expected to do so with the president of the CSD, Victor Francos. Many issues are on the table, such as the upcoming election for the president of the Spanish Football Federation. The elections will be held in the first half of the year after the authorization from the CSD itself. Besides, Ceferin would like to know what is the current situation in RFEF after the departure of Luis Rubiales and other directors who left the federal entity.
UEFA’s message, with respect to the CSD and as always, is to convey the idea that the RFEF chooses its representatives, without any intervention from Government. The UEFA president wants to complete this intense day by attending this afternoon’s Champions League match Atlético de Madrid and Feyenoord at Metropolitan Stadium.
