Bad news for Carlos Sainz. The Madrid driver, who has to start from 12th position in the 2023 F1 Qatar GP, will not participate in the race this Sunday (7:00 pm /DAZN F1) due to a last-minute withdrawal from his Ferrari SF23.
Apparently, the Spanish driver’s ’55’ car suffered a fuel leak a few hours before the race. As the ‘DAZN F1’ television signal showed, the red team mechanics tried to fix the leak, and when they did a test to see if it had been resolved, the leak continued. Finally, the team announced the non-participation of the Madrid player due to this problem.
The Madrid native had a difficult race this Sunday in the race with a car that did not adapt as well to this layout as it did on previous tracks.
Carlos is ready to suffer in the race in search of some important points this time. He entered Sunday from 5th position in the Drivers’ World Championship, with an 18-point lead over Leclerc and looking to reduce some of the 22 points that separated him from Alonso (4th). However, not participating is a severe blow to the general classification for the Madrid player, as he will leave without points, empty.
