The judge in Rubiales’ case will investigate the leaks to the media

Date:

The judge of the National Court Francisco de Jorge, which is investigating the case of former RFEF president Luis Rubiales kissing player Jenni Hermoso, has announced that it will investigate the releases in various media of statements made in this case and restricted the parties’ access to the video of the demonstrations.

The magistrate adopted this decision after the leak to the media last week of an extract of the statement given by Rubiales as an investigator for the crimes of sexual assault and coercion, and this Monday, that given by Jenni Hermoso to the prosecutor in case, Marta Durántez, before formalizing his complaint about what happened after the World Cup final, held in Sydney (Australia).

Also this Tuesday, before taking a statement while investigating the former women’s coach Jorge Vilda and the marketing director of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Rubén Rivera, the head of the Central Court of Instruction 1 of the National Court, after the leak of Hermoso’s statement on television, showed his discomfort with the leaks taking place and has announced to the parties that they will be investigated because they constitute serious crimes of revealing secrets.

For this reason, the judge decided to withdraw access to the videos of the demonstrations to prevent new leaks and only allow them to be consulted in court.
