Mario Balotelli has never been one to keep things quiet. The Italian striker, 33 years old and current footballer for Turkish side Adana Demirspor, was quick to respond to Zlatan Ibrahimovic after his incendiary statements against his former teammate in La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Swede spoke about ‘Super Mario’ comparing his career with Rafael Leao, Milan star. “When a kid has the chance to take advantage of his talent and misses the chances, it’s a shame. Balotelli had a lot of chances and he didn’t use even one. There are many, out there, who would like to have of at least one and won’t get it. They all lost. “This is the truth. Leo? They are not even comparable… The Portuguese on the field, Mario in the stands.”
As expected, Balotelli did not like the message, responding with a scathing Instagram photo for Ibrahimovic. It was the Champions League that Inter won in 2010, the season after the Swede left the Nerazzurri club to join FC Barcelona.
Balotelli, who joined Ibra in the Inter ranks, added a message. “In Manchester you were scared and I wanted to win (on the field). The following year we still won the Champions League, but Zlatan, I still love you.”
The Italian was referring to Inter’s defeat against Manchester United in the 2008/09 season, when they both shared a forward.
