Sainz: “I suffered in the last sector”

Date:

Carlos Sainz will start 4th in Sunday’s F1 United States GP race after a classification in which his teammate Charles Leclerc was more inspired. The Spaniard took pole at Austin 2022, but could not repeat it a year later after suffering something else in the final sector of the American track. The man from Madrid will try to go for the podium this Sunday after a ‘qualifying’ in which he lacked the last point to fight for first place against Charles, Norris, Hamilton and Verstappen. Despite this, Carlos remained positive.

“It wasn’t a bad qualifying. I had difficulty in the last sector, so tomorrow I will try to improve there. The rest of the lap went more or less well and it seems that we are in good shape”commented Carlos, who was 0″222 off the best time, the work of his teammate Leclerc. He was preceded by Lando Norris (2nd) and Lewis Hamilton (3rd), while behind him is Russell (5th) and a Verstappen who will start to catch fire after his last mistake (6th).

“Congratulations to Charles on getting pole for the team. We will try to score some good points throughout the weekend”Sainz finished with a team statement.
