The Hispano-Moroccan Ayad Lamdassem is the main favorite to win the thirty-eighth edition of the Cross del Aceite of Torredonjimeno (Jaén), which will be held this Sunday with about 1,300 athletes in all categories.
Lamdassem, who became the European cross country champion with the Spanish team, will be looking to impose its form on a race with a 9,000 meter route at the Manuel Pancorbo circuit in the town of Jaén.
His main rival to achieve the victory was the Valencian Víctor RuizSpanish record holder in the 2,000 meter hurdles and winner of the World Cup in Budapest; Lorenzo Jiménez and Alberto Casas from Jaen, which is active in Unicaja Jaén Paraíso Interior; and Zakaria Boufaljat from Huelva, fifth in the Spanish 10,000 meters championship.
To womenrace with a distance of 7,500 meters, Paula Viviana Ramírez, Nerja athlete, will try to prove the success again in 2022, although this year there will be stiff competition with Madrid-based Lucía Rodríguez, semi-finalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in the 5,000 meter event; and Valencian Carla Masip, also international and fully recovered from an injury.
