The CAREX permanent circuit will host nearly 4,000 athletes next Sunday in Atapuerca International Cross which reached its nineteenth edition, as commented by Borja Suárez, president of the Provincial Council that organizes the exam, in the presentation of the circuit this Tuesday.
The participation of 3,875 athletes among 280 teams and nineteen different nationalities, where two great favorites stand out, Jacob Kiplimo in the men’s category, current world champion, and Beatriz Chebet in the women’s contest.
The competitions will start at 9:30 am, the absolute women’s race will take place from 12:45 pm and the men’s race will take place later, at 1:25 pm
Previously, the various lower categories will take place as well as the mixed relay, which will be at 10:40 am. Finally, it’s the turn of the famous women’s and men’s races at 2:00 pm
The budget used by the Institute for Sports and Youth of the Provincial Council of Burgos is estimated at 185,000 euros.
The athletes of Burgos Dani Arce, Jesús Gómez, Rubén Álvarez, Lidia Campo and Cristina Ruiz They sponsored the presentation and pointed out that it was “a luxury” to have “the best national cross” in their land.
“This race is difficult at the beginning of the season; for us it’s crazy to have the best cross country in the world at home and with our people, it’s the first cross country but we always get the best level. Atapuerca pushes you to the best because it is marked on the calendar,” said Dani Arce.
