The Russian Andrey Rublevthird seed, and the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipasfourth seed, reached the round of 16 of the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna this Tuesday by defeating the Australian in straight sets. Alexei Popyrin and the Austrians Dominic Thiemwho only put up a fight in the first round.
Andrey Rublev, world number 5, defeated Popyrin 7-6 (5) 6-4 to meet in the round of 16 with Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi, who on Monday was the executioner of the Spaniard in the first round Albert Ramos.
Stefanos Tsitsipas also made it to the second round, in his case at the expense of Dominic Thiem, who was invited by the organization and whom he lost 7-6 (5) and 6-4 when he physically collapsed in the second set. The Greek will look for the quarterfinals against the Czech Tomas Macac.
