Bagnaia: “I’m happy now”

Date:

The Italian Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia (Ducati Desmosedici GP23) said that he was “very happy today”, because he managed to advance to the second direct classification of the Thai Grand Prix, but “not only for that”, but “for the sensations”.

“I can brake really well and that’s very positive, I missed the feeling of hard braking from the front and the bike followed me. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the same sensations as in the morning in the first part of practice and my sensations on the rear wheel were not the best in the first intermediate, and on the right side I had some grip problems, ” explained Bagnaia.

“When we put the second intermission in the first ‘time-attack’I felt good again and, in the second attempt, with the yellow flag because of Jorge’s fall, I didn’t have the opportunity to do a second time, but I am very happy,” commented the world championship leader.

Bagnaia explained his change of front brake discs in the first training session: “It’s more about the sensations, I prefer when the initial braking is very aggressive and doesn’t feel that wayso I don’t want to waste any more time, so I went in to replace them.”

Regarding his rivals, he acknowledged that “Aprilia, on this circuit and with their grip on this tire, will be very competitive.” “I think it would be a good result for us to get into the top three, in the front row, but we can fight for the pole,” he added.

“It’s always difficult to predict on a Friday, except in Barcelona, that they will be the fastest, because there are many different strategies in the session, but No doubt, the Aprilias are competitive and I think the KTMs are too.“If we can improve the corner entry a little bit, in the last part, we will be faster,” commented “Pecco” Bagnaia.
