Statement from Jamaica on international boycott

Date:

Three days ago the internationals of Jamaica announced a boycott in which they refused to play the golden cup accusing their country’s federation, among other things, of not paying them what was stipulated for their participation in the last World Cup. The complaints are clear and genuine and the federative body seems to have got good attention.

A few hours ago, through a statement, the JFF announced that it had caught the debt owed to the football players: “The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) is pleased to report that, as committed, we have paid in full the balances owed to the Women’s World Cup team“, wrote.

The players, both of whom reached the round of 16 in Australia and New Zealand, threatened not to play the double match against Panama (Thursday) and Guatemala (Monday). “We will also start paying all players who participated in the qualifiers but were not included in the final World Cup team. We are grateful for everyone’s contribution and we are happy that these outstanding amounts have been resolved,” they added. to put out the fire.
