This competition was born with the aim of giving the top boxers in Spain more activity and, therefore, more experience for future competitions, both national and international.
After this Iberdrola Cup event, the president of the Royal Spanish Boxing Federation, Felipe Martínez made the following evaluation of the MD event: “This edition of the Iberdrola Cup must be classified as a resounding success. The Royal Spanish Boxing Federation would like to thank the entire Móstoles city council for their cooperation in making it this way, in In addition to, logically, to Iberdrola. An edition that we believe represents the rise of Spanish women’s boxing, which continues to flourish. Without a doubt, the future participation of Laura Fuertes (and hopefully more (more boxers) in Paris, helps here.”
And Felipe Martínez added: “The end of the year was very busy and it was shown by the arrival of another edition of the traditional Boxam Elite, that the 2023 edition will serve as a test bed before entering the Olympic year, with all that that means. From RFEBox, we are happy to link another edition and once again give continuity to our most international tournament (born in 1976)”
