Ansu Fati continues to take steps to regain his best version of football. On loan from FC Barcelona this season, the forward completed an outstanding performance today in Brighton’s victory over Ajax at the Johan Cruyff Arena (0-2).
Roberto De Zerbi started Ansu Fati, putting him in a midfield position behind Joao Pedro where he moved wonderfully.
Ansu opened the scoring in the fifteenth minute after controlling a ball passed to him by Simon Adingra and ended his arrival on the race with a fine finish, crossing with precision in front of goalkeeper Diant Ramaj. It was his fourth goal of the season in twelve games.
It was in the second half that the roles were exchanged with a quick Brighton move. Ansu received on the balcony of the area, took control and allowed Adigra on the right to score with a cross shot into the corner.
Ten minutes later, in the 64th minute, De Zerbi replaced Ansu, who had previously scored again after receiving a close-range shot but a defender dived in time to block his shot from the point- blank range.
