After losing three games to Canadatwo singles and one double, Rebecca Masarova achieved his first victory with the Spanish team in an individual match and the first for the whole of Anabel Medinain Billie Jean King Cup Finals which is played on Seville.
Masarova, who was overtaken on the first day by the young Marina Stakusic, won the match Katarzyna Kawa by 2-6, 6-3 and 6-2, in two hours and six minutes, and put Spain ahead in the duel against Poland, in the final session of Group C.
In a match that was meaningless for classification as Canada sealed their place in the semifinals early after defeating the Spanish and the Polish, Spain took advantage.

The doubles, originally scheduled for Marina Bassols and Cristina Bucsa, from Spain, and Weronika Falkowska and Katarzina Kawa, from Poland, will close the participation of both teams in Seville.
