The prestigious multinational Deloitte put the FC Barcelona in seventh place in its particular European club league in operating income. The ‘Deloitte Football Money League’, as they call their roster, saw how the City of Manchester rise to the first position ahead real Madrid by Florentino Pérez.
The list, published at the beginning of 2023, shows the economic potential in the final year of English clubs and the Premier in particular as the ‘richest’ league in terms of revenue volume.
The report takes into account the three main sources of a club’s income: that which comes from the sale of television rights (the highest in percentage), obtained from the box office and commercial income, which comes from the sale of t- shirts and other officially licensed products.
Only three Spanish clubs appear in the top 20: Real Madrid (2), Barça (7) and Atlético de Madrid (12). Italian clubs occupy 11th place (Juventus Turin), 14th (Inter Milan) and 16th (AC Milan).
