These are the stages of the very difficult Dakar Rally’2024

Date:

The 2024 Dakar Rally route will run 7,881 kilometers, of which 4,727 kilometers (60% of the route) will be against the clock. The 46th edition will begin on January 5 in Al-Ula with a finish in Yanbu on January 19, where the director of the Dakar, David Castera, described it as “the most challenging edition of all since the landing of rally in the East.” Half”.

Prologue: January 5 Al Ula-Al Ula (27 kms)

Raising the curtain as long as it takes the rules to the absolute limit. Instead of a sprint, it’s a concentrated Dakar stage where competitors sslom between rocks, on sandy tracks and off-piste sections.

Stage 1: January 6 Al AlUla-Al Henakiyah (405 km)

The tough and action-packed challenge of Stage 1 sets the tone for the 2024 edition and motivates the competitors. Winding between volcanoes, with all shades of color, from the faintest to the brightest, in a view never seen before in Dakar.

Stage 2: January 7 Al Henakiyah- Al Duwadimi (470km)

An XXL stretch of road for a special XXL! After about 30 km of dunes, most of this new special takes place in fast sections. Dakar will enter the terrain of resistance.

Stage 3: January 8 Al Duwadimi-Al Salamiya (440km)

Dakar 2024 did not have a smooth start: on the agenda, an eclectic mix of rocky sections, large expanses of sand and chains of sand.

Stage 4: January 9 Al Salamiya-Al-Hofuf (299km)

Dakar 2024 did not have a smooth start: on the agenda, an eclectic mix of rocky sections, large expanses of sand and chains of sand.

Stage 5: January 10 Al-Hofuf- Shubaytah (118km)

A deceptively easy stage. Two dangers lurk beneath the surface. The duration of the connection and the return to the dune sea of the Empty Quarter. Here every kilometer of special painful double or triple. Objective: reach Shubaytah before sunset.

Stage 6: January 11 Shubaytah-Shubaytah (584km)

This 48-hour episode in the Empty Quarter sends shivers down the spines of the competitors. Very difficult navigation, hidden WPs, hard to find and separate tracks for FIA cars and FIM cars.

At four o’clock in the afternoon, the bell will order each competitor to stop their car at the nearest stop and spend the night under the starry sky before setting off again at dawn. Receive supplies and basic camping gear and you’ll be cut off from the rest of the world: no connections, no information

Stage 7: January 14 Riyadh-Al Duwadimi (483 km)

A labyrinth of canyons with constant changes of direction, followed by extreme stretches of dunes that will bring competitors back to the heart of the matter.

Stage 8: January 15 Al Duwadimi-Ha’il (458km)

A day of strong contrast, slightly easier than previous stages. Sand gives way to rocks, creating very rugged terrain. The mission: avoid potholes on the way to Ha’il.

Stage 9: January 16 Ha’il- AlUla (417km)

A stage that will put the main competitors mentally on the limit. Tracks are felt rather than seen, making navigation more complicated. It is not so easy to find the right speed while running on the rocky plateau.

Stage 10: January 17 AlUla-AlUla (371km)

A circular stage around the monumental stones of the AlUla region. This fiendish obstacle course will give the smartest competitors plenty of opportunities to exploit their rivals’ mistakes.

Stage 11: January 18 AlUla-Yanbu (480km)

The piece de resistance of the second week. With a length of almost 500 kilometers, most of the specials take place in dry and rugged terrain. The stage will change the podium in all categories.

Stage 12: January 19 Yanbu-Yanbu (175km)

A special stage of 144 kilometers is never a comfortable place for anyone leading the race. If there are no major difficulties, the last stage can still be decisive.
