UAE Emirates will continue to invest in talent recruitment and join the team until 2027 with 17-year-old Swiss Jan Christen, junior world champion in cyclo-cross and national champion in track and mountain bike.
Christen hails from Aargau, Switzerland, and to date has held several national titles in various categories, both on the road and in track, cyclo-cross, time trial and also in mountain discipline.
The Swiss are already competing within the UAE structure of Slovenian Tadej Pogačar, double Tour winner, through the ‘Pogi Team’, where he will continue to compete and develop with the aim of taking the step into the professional team in the coming that year.
Jan Christen is excited to sign a contract with one of the best teams on the World Tour.
“I am excited to sign with UAE Emirates. I was quite in touch with the team and from the first moment everyone became very friendly and hospitable. I will say that I am a complete rider, I enjoy all disciplines and want to challenge myself whether it is on the road, on the railroad or off the road. “
Christen’s first goal “is to continue to enjoy cycling and to continue to learn and develop. In the UAE I feel like I’m in the right place to do it,” he concludes.
