Manchester City winger Benjamin Mendy pleaded not guilty on Monday to nine sexual assaults on six women. Mendy, 27, denied all charges, including seven rapes, in the Chester Crown Court preview.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the secuales attacks took place at the City side’s home between October 2020 and August 2021.
Louis Saha Matturie, 40, also a defendant, pleaded not guilty to 12 counts in connection with the attacks. The trial will take place on July 25.
Benjamin Mendy played his last game for City on August 15, against Tottenham, and was later suspended by the ‘citizen’ club the same month, when he was arrested. The French international signed for City from Monaco in 2017 for € 61.5m.
