Brought to our field and specifically in the figure of Unai Simón, the Murgia goalkeeper is more alive than ever and even if the Church does not (yet) recognize his high level of perfection, the red and white parish has. His work, dedication, talent and humility make him one of the great figures not only in Athletic, but also in the Spanish team where he was chosen MVP of the 2023 season.
However, I believe there is something more important than the award itself. In Unai’s absence, Txopo Iribar collected the award and said the following: “Unai is superior to me at the moment.”

We fans are lucky because, in addition to being one of the best goalkeepers today, the Alava player has actively declared that his place is here, and that Athletic is his home.
