This Monday the 2024 grid of MotoGP along with the official announcements of the two positions that remained vacant in the Repsol Honda and Mooney VR46 and that they arrived with a difference of 2 hours and 45 minutes.
At around nine in the morning Honda Racing Corporation released a short six-line statement, without even a statement, announcing the arrival of Luca Marini for the 2024 and 2025 campaigns. The Italian then posted on his Instagram account a post with a photo of a child wearing a Repsol Honda jumpsuit and the phrase: “Now it’s official, the dream is now reality. I will give it my all.” The official MotoGP account also announced the news with another photo of Repsol Honda’s little Marini and the phrase “Maybe it was always meant to be.”
And a few hours later, the Mooney VR46 Racing Team announced the signing of Fabio di Giannantonio for 2024. Here are the words of the team director, Alessio Salucci, and the new team driver who comes in place of Luca Marini
“It was an unexpected, last-minute arrival but I am satisfied that we chose him. He had a great end to the season, he didn’t disappear when things weren’t going well and I’m sure he will feel it. at home here. At the level of motorcycling, proven to be among the fastest young Italians, he will continue to work with Ducati and the aim is to help him not only to be competitive, but to be consistent in his results. This is an ambitious project, it is marks a turning point in the history of our Team, but I am sure that we will all do our best to go in the same direction,” explained Salucci.
Diggia, for his part, said that “I am happy to join a team as strong as the Mooney VR46 Racing Team, I will learn a lot and I can’t wait to start working together on this project, we can do really great things. In the end two seasons in MotoGP I have grown a lot and with this team I will definitely become more mature and achieve good results. I’m excited, I can’t wait to meet all my new staff and team start working on the track. Thank you all to make it possible.”
